A Happy New Year from AsssA!

Once again another year is behind us. We want to extend a sincere thank you to all of our clients. Our success comes from you and our dedicated, professional personnel.

This was a transformational year for AsssA. We went beyond simply safety management system implementation and Injury Management and began to roll out a number of training courses, wellness programs and auditing to help our clients excel in every facet of their scopes of work.

Here are some highlights from 2015…

Communications, Social Media and Publications

AsssA has been more vocal in the marketplace, publishing documents such as our 2015 Annual Report, 2016 Business Plan Summary, social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Web Page) and more frequent communications. AsssA’s sister company “Perth Laughter Yoga” expanded on Facebook in a short timeframe to have 350 likes within a week.

To stay up to date with the latest initiatives from AsssA, connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Vibrant New Website

We recently launched our new AsssA website. The new, easy-to-navigate site gives visitors access to all of AsssA’s business divisions, plus additional benefits for our clients, including news, articles, and up-to-date blogs.

Specialized Courses from AsssA

Growth has been steady since our new training implementation.  AsssA offer a range of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality training options that are interactive and engaging for our clients. AsssA follow standards set under the Australian Qualifications Training Framework and all of our trainers are industry experienced & certified.

The below displays our capability and scope from courses that we have previously and continue to deliver;

  • Incident Investigation
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Fatigue Management
  • Chain of Responsibility
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation
  • First Aid
  • Emergency Preparedness and Response
  • Safety for Supervisors
  • Occupational Hygiene
  • Mock Court Session
  • Environmental Awareness
  • Introduction to Quality Auditing
  • Ergonomics
  • Hazardous Substances Awareness
  • Manual Handling

Furthermore…

AsssA are super excited to announce our new affiliation with Australian High Risk Training in Belmont. Jaimie Leggo and Megan are of the same ilk when it comes to quality service delivery.

AsssA have been working with AHRT for the past 5 years and recently we have introduced a Quality Management System into AHRT. It is anticipated that AHRT will be 9001/2015 accredited in February 2016. This is a major milestone for AHRT.

Having this quality accreditation will assist Jaimie immensely for tendering purposes – What other Training companies in WA are quality accredited? That’s right – not many to nil.

Contract Awarded, Commonwealth – Navy

AsssA are super-excited to announce that we will be undertaking Quality and Safety auditing for the Australian Navy in 2016. We will therefore increase in our personnel.

Our People

Our people are the most important part of our business. We are super excited to see Justin Wright back in the business after his break with Monadelphous and BHP Billiton. Justin will continue with administrative support as well as Hygiene Management. Justin is now qualified as a Surface Ventilation Officer and in noise management. He has experience to undertake fit testing and is ably supported by Barry Chesson.

Barry (Justin’s Dad) delivered some Hazardous Substance training with Gary this year for BMTO. Barry is the guru of all gurus in the field of Occupational Hygiene. You will not find a more qualified professional than Barry, but above all Barry is an absolute gentleman and he is an absolute pleasure to deal with.

David Hong is currently skiing in Korea. He failed to put his training into practice with his girlfriend breaking her arm yesterday on the slopes. David has developed from doing work experience three years ago under the Curtin University work experience program to now be a Lead Auditor. Essentially, when AsssA find good people – we develop them and make sure they stay for the long term.

Rosa McCartney – AsssA Director, is sunbaking on the beach in Queensland, whilst Mel Read is managing all of our return-to-work clients. Don’t worry Mrs McCartney – you just relax, we are holding the fort.

Gary de-Vries – AsssA Director, has expanded his auditing skillset in 2015. Gary completed his Diploma in Auditing, is an Exemplar accredited auditor and is currently finalising his auditor examiner qualification. He became a Laughter Yoga instructor this year.

Mel Read our resident ergonomist is continuing to offer great training solutions and is a key member of our injury management team. Thanks for your awesome work this year Mel. Your conversational insights at the yearly Christmas parties are more than entertaining.

Frank Legena is providing AsssA with some amazing support. Frank’s business and quality knowledge is being transferred to all of our team and we are super appreciative of this Frank.

We achieved some amazing things this year

Mineral Resources Limited came on board as a new client and we provided a third party auditing service to the corporate office and their sites. The audit report was well received with tangible findings and recommendations provided.

Perth Laughter Yoga was developed this year. Gary, has teamed up to form this new and exciting business with Laughter WA President Peter Schupp. Peter is an amazing guy and can turn you from feeling 3 at the start of a Laughter Yoga session to an 8 in a matter of 30 minutes. What form of therapy can do this other than Laughter Yoga? Perth Laughter Yoga will have its first sister state come on board in the first quarter of 2016 with Joshua Munroe (The Voice Contestant – Delta and Ricki got it wrong) starting up Melbourne Laughter Yoga. Joshua will be supported by Gary to develop a market in Melbourne. Go and Google “Joshua Munroe The Voice” and check out why we have engaged Joshua. He is a marvel.

One of our many satisfied Laughter Yoga clients, NAB bank has provided a great testimonial on the website for our training of their corporate team.

Surveyor specific training. AsssA have been accredited to provide professional point training to surveying companies in WA. Automated Surveys are in their 4th year of having AsssA personnel manage their safety and training. A dynamic business and lovely people. We love dealing with Andrew, Frank and the team.

Another new client for the year was DM Civil. Malia and Ryan have implemented and manage an IMS Management system that is first class. The Maddington team were lovely to our auditors. Having a closing meeting with 15 of their most senior personnel displayed management commitment at its highest.

AsssA’s affiliation with the Gorgon Upstream Gas Project finalised this year. The 6 year association worked so well because we had some amazing people working for AsssA. So thank-you to;

  • Petrina Rait
  • Jane Aberdeen
  • Graham Franklin
  • Linda Lorraine
  • Gary de-Vries
  • Rosa McCartney
  • David Hong
  • Justin Wright
  • Charlie Casilli
  • Julie de-Vries

And a big thank-you to Barry Calverley. Your work offshore and onshore was always amazing and was so well received by the GUFT Team.

Thanks to the GUFT Management Team too.

  • Dave Heath
  • Jason Seabrook
  • James Barr
  • Sarah Bolitho
  • Mark O’Sullivan
  • David Equid
  • Milton Bruce
  • Richard Lequatermaine

We have learnt so much and have developed some great skills to transfer with our other clients.

Thanks

Goes out to many for the unbelievable year AsssA have had. Thank you to Martin Ralph “Ralphy” – Managing Director of IFAP for your support.

Rosa and Gary are lucky to be supported by such amazing personnel and without these guys we wouldn’t be an interactive leader of Safety, Quality and Injury Management in WA.

On behalf of everyone at AsssA, we would like to thank you for your business, loyalty, and support throughout 2015. We wish you and your family happy, safe, prosperous, and joyous 2016.
